Angels Wish

Was God (F)smiling when He spoke the (C)words that (Csus)made the world?

(Gm7)And did He cry (F)about the flood?

(Gm7)What does God's voice (F)sound like (Csus)when He (C)sings (Csus)or when (C)He's angry?

(Dm7)These are just a few things that the (Bbsus2)angels have on me.

Well, (C)I can't fly, at least not yet.

I've (Am)got no halo (Bb)on my (F)head,

and (Am)I can't even start to picture Heaven's beauty.

But (C)I've been shown the Savior's love.

The (Am)grace of God has (Bb)raised me (F)up to (Am)show me things the (C)angels long to (D)look into.

(D7)And (Dm7)I know things (F)angels only (Gm7)wish they knew.

(Gm7)I have seen the (F)dark and (Csus)desp'rate (C)place where (Csus)sin will take you.

(Gm7)I've felt (F)loneliness and (Csus)shame.

(Gm7)And I have watched (F)the blinding light of (C)grace (Csus)come (C)breaking through with a sweetness only tasted by the (Bb)forgiven and redeemed.

Still, (Bbsus2)wish they knew.

(D7)And someday I'll sit down with my (F)angel friends up in Heaven.

(G)They'll (Am)tell me about (C)creation,

(Dm7)and I'll tell them a story of grace.

(G)Well, (C)I can't fly, at least not yet.

I've (Am)got no halo (Bb)on my (F)head,

and (Am)I can't even start to picture Heaven's beauty.

But (C)I've been shown the Savior's love.

The (Am)grace of God has (Bb)raised me (F)up to (Am)show me things the angels long to (D)look into.

(D7)And (Dm7)I know things the (F)angels only (Gm7)wish they knew.
