Watch What Happens

Write what you know, so they say.

All I know is I don't (Bb)know what to write or the right way to write it.

This is (F7)big, lady, don't screw it up!

This is not some little (Bb)(Gm)vaudeville (Eb)I'm (Dm)(Gm)(C7)reviewing.

(F7)Poor little kids versus rich, greedy sourpusses!

(Bb)Ha, it's a cinch;

it can practical'y write itself.

And (F7)let's pray it does, 'cause as I may have mentioned,

I have (Bb)no (Gm)clue (Eb)what (Dm)I'm (Gm)(Em7)doing!

(A7)Am I insane?

This is what I've been waiting for!

Well, (D)that, plus the screaming of half crazy editors:

"A (A7)girl?"

"It's a girl?!

How the hell..."

"Is that even legal?"

(D)"Look, (Bm)just (G)go (F#m)and (Bm7)get her!"

(A7)Not only that there's the story behind the story:

(D)thousands of children exploited, invisible.

Speak (C7)up, take a stand, and there's someone to write about it.

(F7sus)That's how things get (F7)beter.

(Bb)Give life's little guys some (F7sus)ink,

and when it dries, just (Eb)watch what happens!

Those (Eb6/9)kids will live and (Bb)breathe right on the page and (F7sus)once they're center stage you (Eb)watch what happens!

And (Eb6/9)who's there with her (Gm)cam'ra and her pen as (Ab)boys turn into men?

They'll (Fm7)storm the gates and then just (F)watch what (Eb)(F7)happens when they (Bb5)do!

(Ab)just give in.

It (Gm)can't be any worse than (Ab)how it's been.

And it (Bb)just so happens that we just might (Eb)win,

(Ebm)so (Fsus)whatever happens,

(F7sus)let's (Bb)begin!
