Through the Fire

So (D)many times I've questioned (Bm)certain circumstances,

and (G)things I could not understand.

And (A)many times in trials,

(A)weakness blurs my vision.

That's when (Em7)my frustration (G)gets so out of (D)hand.

(Am7)It's (D)then I am reminded that I've (Bm7)never been forsaken,

and I've (D)never had to stand one test (G)alone.

When I (A)look at all my vict'ries,

(Bm)then the (A)Spirit rises up in me,

and it's (Em7)through the fire my (A)weakness is made (D)strong.

Oh. (A)(D)He never promised that the cross would not get heavy,

and the (G)hill would not be (D)hard to (Em7)climb.

(A)He never offered (Em7)our (A)vict'ries without fighting,

but He said (G)help would always (A)come in (D)time.

(G)So just (D)remember when you're standin' in the valley of decision and the (G)adversary (D)says,

"Give (Em7)in," just hold (A)on.

My Lord will show up, yes,

and He will (Em7)take you through the (A)fire again.

(Bm)I know within myself that I would surely (D)perish.

Oh, but (Bm)if I trust the mighty hand of God,

He'll (G)shield the flames again,

(Bbsus)again. (Eb)He never promised that the cross would not get heavy,

(Eb)and the (Ab)hill would not be (Eb)hard to (Fm7)climb.

(Bb)He never offered (Fm7)our (Bb)vict'ries without fighting,

but He said (Ab)help would always (Bb)come in (Eb)time.

(Ab)Just (Eb)remember when you're standin' in the valley of decision and the (Ab)adversary (Eb)says,

"Give (Fm7)in," just hold (Bb)on.

Our Lord will show up, yes,

and He will (Fm7)take you through the (Bb)fire again.

So just hold on.

Our Lord will show up and

He will (Fm7)take you through the (Bb)fire again.
