Upon This Rock

When others (F#m7)see with earthly eyes just what they (Gmaj9)want to see,

(D)you will see the things that never (F#7)die.

You will (D)know and recognize by simple (Em9)childlike faith the (E7)priceless truth that others will (A7)deny.

When others (F#m7)say I'm just a man who liked to (G6)dream his dreams,

(D)when others call a miracle a (F#7)myth,

you'll listen (D)for eternity in moments (Em9)as they pass,

and (E7)see with spirit eyes what others (C7)miss.

Upon this (F)Rock I'll (A7)build my kingdom,

Upon this (F)Rock forever and ever (G)it shall stand.

And all the (Bbm)pow'rs of hell itself shall (Dm7)nevermore prevail against it,

for (G7)Satan's thrones are built on sinking (C7)sand.

Upon this (F)Rock I'll (A7)build my kingdom,

and on this (F)Rock forever and ever (G)it shall stand.

Upon this (Bbm)Rock of revelation I'll build a (Dm7)strong and mighty nation,

and it shall (Bb)stand the storm of time upon this (F)Rock.

(Aaug)If in a (G7)Satan's thrones are built on sinking (Db)sand.

Upon this (Ab)Rock I'll (C7)build my kingdom,

and on this (Ab)Rock forever and ever (Bb)it shall stand.

Upon this (Dbm)Rock of revelation I'll build a (Fm)strong and mighty nation,

and it shall (Db)stand the storm of time.

Upon this (F)Rock I'll build my (D)kingdom,

and on this (Gm)Rock forever shall (A7sus)stand.

(G)Upon (A7)this (Bbm6)Rock of revelation I'll build a (Dm7)strong and mighty nation,

and it shall (Bb)stand the storms of time.

Upon this (A)Rock,

(Gm)I'll (D)build (Gm7)my (Bb)church.

Upon this (F)Rock,

(Bb)upon this (F)Rock!
