The Night Before Christmas Song

'Twas the (C)night before (Em)Christmas and (F)all through the (C)house,

not a (Dm)creature was (C)sitrring, not (F6)even (G)a (C)mouse.

All the stockings were (Em)hung by the (F)chimney with (C)care in the (Dm)hope that Saint (C)Nicholas (F6)soon (G7sus)would (G7)be (C)there.

(C7)Then (F)what to my wondering (C)eyes should appear,

a (Dm)miniature (G7)sleigh and eight (C)tiny (C7)reindeer.

A (F)little old driver so (C)lively and quick,

I (D7)knew in a moment it (Dm7)must be Saint (G)Nick.

And more (C)rapid than (Em)eagles his (F)reindeer all (C)came,

as he (Dm)shouted, "On (C)Dasher" and (F6)each (G7sus)(G7)reindeer's (C)name.

(G)And so (C)up to the (Em)housetop the (F)reindeer soon (C)flew,

with the (Dm)sleigh full of (C)toys and Saint (F6)(G)Nicholas,

(C)too. Down the chimney he (Em)came with a (F)leap and a (C)bound.

He was (Dm)dressed all in (C)fur and his (F6)(G7sus)belly (G7)was (C)round.

(C7)He (F)spoke not a word but went (C)straight to his work and (Dm)filled all the (G7)stockings,

then (C)turned with a (C7)jerk.

And (F)laying his finger (C)aside of his nose,

then (D7)giving a nod up the (Dm7)chimney he (G)rose.

But I (C)heard him (Em)exclaim as he (F)drove out of (C)sight,

"Merry (Dm)Christmas to (C)all and to (F6)each (G7sus)(G7)reindeer's (C)name.

(G)And so (D7)all a (G7)good (C)night."
