Tapestry

My (F)life has been a (C7sus)tapestry of (F)rich and royal (C7sus)hue,

(Bb)an (F)everlasting (C7sus)vision

(Bb)of the (F)(Bb6)everchanging (F)view, a (Gm7)wondrous woven (C)magic in (Gm7)bits of blue and gold,

a (Bb)tapestry to (Am7)feel and see,

impossible to (C)hold.

(Fmaj7)Once, amid the soft, (C7sus)tap es silver (Fmaj7)sadness in the road,

sky, (C7sus)there (Fmaj7)came a man on of for (C7sus)river tune,

and a turned (Bb)drift iner pass a ing toad.

(F)by. He (Gm7)wore a torn and (C)tattered cloth into (Gm7)around his leathered hide,

(C)and a (Bbmaj7)coat of many (Am7)colors,

fer, yellow I (Gm7)green n't on either side.

(C)He (Ab)moved with some (Db)uncertainty, as (Eb)if he didn't (Db)know (Ab)just what he was there (Db)for,

or (Eb)where he (Db)ought to go.

(C)Once he reached for (G)something golden,

(F)hanging from a (C)tree,

and his hand came down (Bbmaj7)empty.

(C)well. (F#)As I watch in (B)sorrow,

there (F#)suddenly (B)appeared

a (F#)figure, grey and (B)ghostly, (F#)beneath a (B)flowing (F#)beard.

In (G#m7)times of deepest (C#)darkness, I've (G#m7)seen him dressed in (C#)black.

Now my (Bmaj7)tapestry's (Bbm7)unraveling;

he's (G#m7)come to take me (C#)back.

He's (G#m7)come to take me (C#)back.
