Tapestry

My (C)life has been a (G7sus)tapestry of (C)rich and royal (G7sus)hue,

an (C)everlasting (G7sus)vision

of the (C)(F6)everchanging (C)view, a (Dm7)wond'rous woven (G)magic in (Dm7)bits of blue and gold,

a (F)tapestry to (Em7)feel and see impossible to hold.

(Cmaj7)Once, amid the soft, (F)tapes silver (Cmaj7)sadness in the sky,

there came a man of for er tune,

a turned (F)drift iner passing toad.

(C)by. He (Dm7)wore a torn and (G)tattered cloth in to (Dm7)around his leathered hide,

(G)and a (Fmaj7)coat

of many (Em7)collors, fer, yellow I (Dm7)green n't on either side.

(G)He (Eb)moved with some (Ab)uncertainty, as (Bb)if he didn't (Ab)know

(Eb)just what he was there for,

or (Bb)where he (Ab)ought to go.

(G)Once he reached for (D)something

golden, (C)hanging from a tree,

(G)and his hand came down (Fmaj7)empty.

(G)well. (C)As I watched in (G7sus)sorrow,

there (C)suddenly appeared

(G7sus)a (C)figure, grey and (G7sus)ghostly, beneath (C)a (F6)flowing beard.

(C)In (Dm7)times of deepest (G)darkness, I've (Dm7)seen him dressed in (G)black.

Now my (Fmaj7)tapestry's (Em7)unraveling;

he's (Dm7)come to take me (G)back.

He's (Dm7)come to take me (G)back.
