Serious

We both know why (F)we're here;

(Gm)I see it in (Bb)your eyes.

(Eb)I guess it calms (F)my fear (Bb)to know it's not a surprise.

(Eb)I thought one look (F)at you,

(Gm)looking like a dream (Bb)come true (Eb)would leave me (F)speechless like you (Bb)always do.

But now we're (Ebmaj7)wide awake

and we've got some (Abmaj7)plans to make.

(F7sus)Let's take some action, baby!

(Em7)So baby give me your hand.

I've got some dreams to make true.

I've got the future all planned.

(G)It's (C)time to get (G)serious, (Eb)time to get (Bb)serious with (Gb)(Absus)you.

(D)I never thought (E)that I would...

(F)Since I was two (G)or three,

(Am)my life was planned (C)out neat.

(F)I'd get my law (G)degree (C)and then win my Senate seat.

(F)A big white house (G)back east,

(Am)all of the (C)amenities.

(F)Three kids, at least, (G)just like the (C)Kennedys!

Here's where our (Fmaj7)lives begin.

But just where do (Bbmaj7)you fit in?

Fit me in!

I'll break it down now, baby!

Oh, baby give me your (A)hand!

Here's my (E)hand!

I've got some dreams to make true!

We both have dreams to make (F#m7)true!

I know that you'll understand.

Oh yes, I (A)understand!

It's (D)time to get (A)serious, (F)time to get (C)serious with...

Serious, (F)gotta wake up and take our journey.

(C)Serious I'm (Gm)tellin' you as a future attorney!

(F5)You want the moon and sky?

(C)Then take it, don't be shy!

(Bb)Baby, that's why you and I

should break up!

(Bsus)Yes, baby I'll give you my (C#m)hand;

we WHAT!

I'm gonna need somebody (C)serious,

(F)less of a Marilyn, more a Jackie!
