Prologue / Chim Chim Cher-ee

(Dm)Wind's in the (Dm(maj7))east,

there's a (Dm7)mist comin' (G)in, like (Gm)somethin' is (Dm)brewin' and (Edim)'bout to (A7)begin.

(Dm)Can't put me (Dm(maj7))finger on (Dm7)what lies in (G)store,

but I (Gm)feel what's to (Dm)'appen all 'appened before.

A father, a (Dm(maj7))mother, a (Dm7)daughter,

a (G)son, the (Gm)threads of their (Dm)lives are all (Edim7)rav'llin' (A)undone.

(Dm)Somethin' is (Dm(maj7))needed to (Dm7)twist 'em as (G)tight as the (Gm)string you might (Dm)use when you're (A)flyin' a (Dm)kite.

(Gm6)Chim chiminey, (Dm)chim chim, (A7)cheree, chim (Bm)cheroo.

(Bm)Of (Em)all London's (B)byways where (Bdim)I doffs me (A)cap,

(Am)this one's the (Em)'ardest to (F#7)find on a (B)map.

(Em)Cherry Tree Lane, as (Bdim)sweet as a (A)song,

but the (Am)nannies who (Em)come 'ere,

they (B)don't stay for (Em)long.

(F#dim7)Chim chiminey, (Em)chim chim, (B7)cheree, chim (Em)cheroo.
