Parent's Prayer

I guess we have always (B7)known that a (Em7)day all like this one would come,

(C)when our children (D)would leave us when and (Am7)begin to build a home of their own.

(G)Lord, all You have taught (F#m7)us

(B7)we have (Em7)day You gave passed on to them.

(C)But one thing (D)we don't know dear Jesus,

how the (Am7)place them back in Your arms (D)again.

Lord, help us (E)let go of two that they might become one,

(B7sus)just like the (B7)Father, (A)(E)Spirit and Son.

(C#m)Two hearts invisibly bound (F#m7)in love by a (A)vow that will not be undone.

(G)I Now in your tender (B7)care,

Lord, a (Em7)be all that we cannot be.

(C)And our help us (D)to trust You when and be (Am7)see You quickly meeting their needs.
