My Year

I'm fired up!

(C)Tryouts today.

I'm gonna (D)blow them (Em)away, yeah.

(G)Dad says I can't go (C)wrong,

no, as long as I (D)keep this (G)on,

oh. Seabrook's been the (C)best, like,

forever. Mom's (D)counting on (Em)me.

No pressure!

(G)Cheer's in my fam'ly genes, come on,

let's do this thing!

What up, ev'rybody?

Let me set the scene.

Fresh new start for your boy,

Young Z.

You saw Pops.

For a dad, he's cool.

He's just a little stressed 'bout my first day of school.

They say be careful, those humans can be mean.

But I'm still going out for the football team.

This might look rough, but it's home sweet home.

Just a little bit of dust and a little bit of mold.

But it ain't so bad on this side of the tracks.

We make it work with a little bit of swag.

On this side, we can all keep winning if we just try to fit in.

Watch it (G)come (C)together, be the (D)best one (Em)ever because (G)it's (D)my (C)time.

This is gonna (D)be my (G)year.

Been waiting for this (C)moment, yeah.

I'm (D)gonna (Em)own it.

You can (G)watch me (Em)shine.

This is gonna (D)be my (G)year.

My year, my (C)year, my, my,

(D)my (Em)year.

My (G)year, my (C)year.

This is gonna be my (G)year.

My cuz (C)Bucky's the man.

(D)Look at how perfect he (Em)lands.

(G)Our (D)very own (C)cheer rock star.

(G)Another year and I (C)only get better,

another (D)cheer, 'nother (Em)varsity letter.

(D)This year we just can't lose.
