Man in the Mirror

I'm gonna make a change,

for once in my life.

It's gonna feel real good,

gonna make a diff'rence, gonna make it right.

As I (G)turn up (D)the lar on (Em7)my (D)fav'rite winter coat,

(C)this wind is blowin' my mind.

I see the (G)kids in the (D)street with (Em7)not enough to eat.

(D)Who am I to be blind?

Pretending not to see their needs.

(Am7)A summer's disregard, (G)a broken bottle top,

(C)and a one man's (G)soul.

They (Am7)follow each other on the wind,

(G)ya' know, 'cause they got (C)nowhere to go.

That's why I want you to know.

(G)I'm starting with the (C)man in the mirror,

(G)I'm asking him to (C)change his ways.

(G)And no message could have (C)been any (A)clearer:

If you (D7)wanna make the world a better place,

take a look at yourself, and then make a (C)change.

(D)Na na na, na na na,

na (C)na, na nah.

(G)I've been a (D)victim of (Em7)a selfish (D)kind of love.

(C)It's time that I realize that there are (G)some with no home,

not a (Em7)nickel to loan.

(D)Could it be (C)really me, pretending that they're not alone?

(Am7)A willow deeply scarred, (G)somebody's broken heart,

(C)and a washed out (G)dream.

They (Am7)follow the pattern of the wind,

(G)ya' see, 'cause they (C)got no place to be.

That's why I'm starting with (G)me.

I'm starting with the (C)man in the mirror,

(G)I'm asking him to (C)change his ways.

(G)And no message could have (C)been any (A)clearer:

If you (D7)wanna make the world a better place,

take a look at yourself and then make a change.
