Malibu

I never came to the beach (Absus)or stood by the (Ab)ocean.

(Absus)I never sat by the (Db)shore under the (Cm)sun with my feet in the (Db)sand,

but you brought me (Ab)here,

and (Absus)I'm happy that (Ab)you did,

That's 'cause now I'm as free

as birds a catching the wind.

(Absus)Is (Ab)I always thought I would sink,

(Absus)so I never (Ab)swam.

(Absus)I (Cm)never went boating, don't get (Db)how they are floating,

and (Cm)sometimes I get so be (Db)scared of what I can't (Fm)understand.

(Bbm)But here I am

(Cm)next to you.

(Bbm)The sky is more blue

(Cm)in (Fm)Malibu, (Bbm)next to you

(Cm)in (Fm)Malibu, (Bbm)next to you.

(Ab)We watch the sun go down (Absus)as we're walking.

I'd spend the rest of my life just standing here talking.

You explain the current as I just (Ab)smile,

hoping that you'll stay the (Db)same and nothing will (Cm)change,

and it'll be (Db)us just for a (Ab)Ah,

(Cm)ah.

(Fm)Ah,

(Cm)ah, ah.

Next to you,

(Bbm)the sky is so blue

(Cm)in (Fm)Malibu, (Bbm)next to you.

(Ab)We are just like the waves (Absus)that flow back and forth.

Sometimes I feel like I'm drowning,

and you're there to (Ab)save me.

And I want to thank you with (Absus)all of my (Ab)heart.

It's (Absus)a brandnew start,

a dream come true in (Ab)Malibu.
