Jesus, Friend of Sinners

Jesus, Friend of sinners, we have (Bbsus)strayed so far away.

We cut down people in Your name,

but the sword was (Gm)never ours to swing.

(Bb)Jesus, Friend of sinners, the truth's (Bbsus)become so hard to (Bb)see.

The world is on their way to You,

but they're (Gm)tripping over me.

Always looking around, but never looking up;

I'm so doubleminded.

A plank eyed (Eb)saint with dirty hands and a heart divided.

Oh, (Bb)Jesus, (Eb)Friend of (F)sinners, open our eyes to the world at the end of our pointing fingers.

Let our (Bb)hearts be (Eb)led by (F)mercy.

Help us (Gm)reach with open hearts and open doors.

Oh, (Cm)Jesus, Friend of sinners, (Eb)break our hearts for what breaks Yours.

Yeah, yeah, yeah.

(Bb)Jesus, Friend of sinners, the One whose (Eb)writing in the sand made the righteous turn away and the stones fall from their hands,

(Bb)help us to remember we are (Eb)all the least of these.

Let the mem'ry of Your mercy bring Your (Gm)people to their knees.

Nobody knows what we're (Eb)for, only what we're against when we judge the wounded.

What if we put down our signs,

crossed over the lines and loved like You did?

Oh, break our hearts for what breaks Yours.

You love ev'ry (Cm9)lost cause,

You reach for the (Ebmaj7)outcast,

for the (Bb)leper and the lame;

they're the (Ab)reason that You came.

Lord, I was that (Cm9)lost cause,

and I was the (Eb)outcast,

but You died for (Bb)sinners just like me,

a grateful (F)leper at Your feet.

'Cause You are (Eb)good,

You are (Bb)good,

and Your (F)love endures (Gm)forever.

You are (Eb)good,

You are (Bb)good,

and Your (F)love endures (Gm)forever.

You are (Eb)good,

You are (Bb)good,

and Your (F)love endures (Gm)forever.

You are (Eb)good,

You are (Bb)good,
