It Never Rains

Got on board (Am7)a westbound (D)seven (G)fortyseven,

didn't (Am7)think before (D)deciding what to (G)do.

All that (Am7)talk of (D)opportunities

(G)TV breaks and movies rang (Am7)true,

(D)sure rang true.

(G)Seems it (Am7)never rains in (D)southern

(G)California,

seems I've (Am7)often heard that kind (D)of talk before.

(G)It never (Am7)rains in (D)California,

but (G)girl, don't they warn (Em)ya,

it pours,

(D)man, it pours.

(G)Out of (Am7)work, I'm out a' my head,

(D)out of (G)selfrespect, I'm out a' bread.

I'm (Am7)underloved, I'm underfed.

(D)I wanna go (G)home.

It never (Am7)rains in (D)California,

but (G)girl, don't they warn (Em)ya,

it pours,

(D)man, it pours.

(G)Will you (Am7)tell the folks back home

(D)I nearly (G)made it,

had (Am7)offers but don't (D)know which one to take.

(G)Please don't (Am7)tell them how you found (D)me,

(G)don't tell them how you found (Em)me.

Give me a (Am7)break,

(D)give me a (G)break.

Seems it (Am7)never rains in (D)southern

(G)California,

seems I've (Am7)often heard that kind (D)of talk before.
