If I Ruled the World

(Bb7)If (Eb)I ruled the (Eb6)world, ev'ry (Eb7)day would be the (Dm7)first day of spring,

Ev'ry heart would have a (Cm)new song to sing

And we'd (F7)sing of the (Eb)joy ev'ry (Edim7)morning would (Fm7)bring.

(Bb7)If (Eb)I ruled the (Eb6)world, ev'ry (Eb7)man would be as (Dm7)free as a bird,

Ev'ry voice would be a (Cm)voice to be heard.

Take my (F7)word we would (Eb)treasure each (Edim7)day that oc (Fm7)bring.

(Bb7)If (Fm7)curred.

(Cmaj7)My world would be a (G7sus)beautiful (G7)place

Where we would (Cmaj7)weave such (C6)wonderful (Fm7)dreams.

(Ebmaj7)My world would wear a (Fm7)smile on its (Bb7)face

(G7)Like the (Cm)man in the (Eb6)moon has when the (Am7)moon (Fm7)beams.

(Bb7)If (Eb)I ruled the (Eb6)world, ev'ry (Eb7)man would say the (Dm7)world was his friend,

There'd be happiness that (Cm)no man could end,

No, my friend, not if (Eb)I (Bbm6)ruled the (C7)world.

Ev'ry (Fm7)head would be held up high,

There'd be (Eb)sunshine in (Bbm6)ev'ryone's (C7)sky,

If the (Fm7)day ever dawned (Bb9)when (Fm7)I ruled (Bb9)the (Eb)world.
