I Smile

Today's a new (Db)day,

but there is no (Eb)sunshine.

Nothing but clouds, (Gbmaj7)and it's dark in my heart,

and it feels like a cold (Cb9)night.

Today's a new (Db)day,

but where are my blue (Eb)skies?

Where is the love (Gbmaj7)and the joy that You promised me?

Tell me it's all (Cb9)right.

I (Gbmaj7)almost gave up, but a power that (F7)I can't explain

(Bbm)fell from heaven like a shower,

now. (Ab13sus)I (Db)smile.

Even though I hurt, see, I (Db7)smile.

I know God is working, so I (Gbmaj7)smile.

Even though I've been here for a (Gbm)while,

I smile.

(Db)Smile. It's so hard to look up when you've been (Db7)down.

Sure would hate to see you give up (Gbmaj7)now.

You look so much better (Gbm)when you smile,

so smile.

(Bbm7)Today's a new day, (Gbm)when you smile.

Hey, (Gbmaj7)smile for (Ab)me.
