Hero

The (Am7)heavens were (C)silent;

the earth wept in pain;

(Am7)nations were (C)trembling and hope never (F)came.

(G)A (C)terror filled the (Em7)air and it (D)wouldn't go away.

We (C)needed a (Am7)hero (Dm7)to come and save the (Em7)day.

ine and hunger, (C)disease in the land.

The (Am7)hatred, the (Em7)killing taking (C)lives from your (G)hand.

(C)Creation (Em7)waits;

through the (D)darkness we pray,

"Tell me, (C)where is the (Em7)hero (F)to come and save

Through the (Em7)day."

through the thorns,

from the (Dm7)hill to the grave was a (Am7)voice in the (Em7)distance,

the (Dm7)Lamb that was (G)slain.

My (C)soul had no (Em7)song and my (D)debt I couldn't pay.

When I (C)needed a (Em7)hero,

You (F)came and You saved

To the (Em7)day.

less, the widow, the (Dm7)fatherless to the (Am7)sick and the (Em7)broken,

(Dm7)alone, with no (G)one:

(C)Lift up your (Em7)head.

Your (D)hope is on the way.

When we (C)needed a (Am7)hero,

You (Bbmaj9)came and You saved the (C)day.

(C)When the (A7)curtain had closed and it (Dm)felt like the end.

Your (Bbmaj13)blood caught the fall and took (A7)away ev'ry sin.

Even (A)though men deny,

You're the (F#m7)only sacrifice that (Fmaj7)loved us enough.

You loved us so much, Lord,

that (Bm7)You gave Your life;

see, You saved my (Db)life.

(Am7)Now I can see (Em7)You.

I'm no (Fmaj9)longer ashamed.

Your (Am7)power I (Em7)feel;

see, our (Fmaj9)lives have (G)exchanged.

(C)Every (Em7)wrong is (D)erased.

(Jesus), (C)You are my (Am7)hero;

You (Bbmaj9)came and You saved the (C)day.

(C)When the (A7)curtain had closed and it (Dm)felt like the end.

Your (Bbmaj13)blood caught the fall and took (A7)away ev'ry sin.
