He Made A Way In A Manger

(C)Longing for a Savior, a (G)hopeless world would wait.

as (F)Sin demanded (C)justice at a (G)price we could not (D)pay.

But (C)God displayed His mercy, the (G)greatest gift of love:

when (F)we could not reach (C)heaven,

lay (G)heaven came to (Dsus)us.

(G)He made a (C)way in a (G)manger,

a (D)way through the (G)Son, (C)Messiah,

the (G)Promised, before (Am7)time had (D)begun.

For (G)God so loved this world,

though He (Em)knew what love would (A)cost,

He made a (Am7)way in a (G)manger (Csus2)to make a (G)way (D)to the (Csus2)cross.

(Csus2)In (C)Bethlehem, a stable (G)became a throne of grace,

as (F)God Himself, our (C)Savior, drew a (G)near to take our (D)place.

His (C)mother smiled in wonder as (G)shepherds stood in awe;

the (F)sacrifice of (C)heaven lay (G)sleeping in the (Dsus)straw.

(G)He made a (C)way in a (G)manger,

a (D)way through the (G)Son,

(C)Messiah, the (G)Promised, before (Am7)time had (D)begun.

For (G)God so loved this world,

though He (Em)knew what love would (A)cost,

He made a (Am7)way in a (G)manger (Csus2)to make a (G)way (D)to the (Csus2)cross.

(Csus2)In (G)cross.

(C)He is the Life who died our (G)death.

The (Am7)precious Lord (G)Jesus

(Eb)laid (F)down His sweet (G)head.

Away in a manger, no (C)crib for a (G)bed,

the (Am7)little Lord (G)Jesus lay (C)down (D)His sweet (Em)head.

(D)The (G)stars in the sky looked (C)down where He (G)lay,

the (Am7)little Lord (G)Jesus (D7)asleep on the (C)hay.

He made a (Csus2)cross.
