Blessings

We pray for blessings,

we pray for peace,

And comfort for family, (Bb)protection while we (Fsus2)sleep.

(F)We pray for healing, for (G)prosperity;

(F)we pray for

Your (Am)mighty hand to (G)ease our suffering.

And (C)all the while,

You (G)hear each spoken (Am)need, yet (Dm)love us way too (C)much to give us (Gsus)lesser things.

(G)'Cause what if Your (C)blessings come through raindrops?

What if Your (G)healing comes through tears?

What if a (Am)thousand sleepless (Em)nights are what it (F)takes to know

You're near?

(Dm7)And what if (C)trials of this (F)life are Your (Gsus)mercies in (Dm7)(C)disguise?

(Em)We pray for wisdom,

(F)Your voice to hear.

And we cry in anger when we (Bb)cannot feel

You (Fsus2)near.

(F)We doubt your goodness, for we (G)doubt Your love,

(F)as if ev'ry (Am)promise from

Your (G)Word is not enough.

And (C)all the while,

You (G)hear each desp'rate (Am)plea, and (Dm)long that we'd have (C)faith to to (Gsus)believe.

er things.

(Csus)guise?

(Dm7)When friends (C)betray us,

(Fsus2)when darkness (G)seems to win, we (Dm7)know the pain (C)reminds this heart that (F)this is not,

(Gsus)this is not our (Dm7)(C)home.

(Gsus)'Cause what if Your (C)blessings come through raindrops?

What if Your (G)healing comes through tears?

What if a (Am)thousand sleepless (Em)nights are what it (F)takes to know

You're near?

What if my (C)greatest disappointments or the (G)aching of this life is the (Am)revealing of a (Em)greater thirst this (F)world can't satisfy?

(Dm7)And what if (C)trials of this (Fsus2)life,

the (F)rain, the (Gsus)storms, the hardest (Fsus2)nights,

(F)are Your (G)mercies in disguise?
