Best Thing That Ever Happened to Me

I've (A)had my share

(Amaj7)of life's (Bm)ups and downs,

but (E7sus)fate's been kind, somehow

(E7)the downs (Amaj7)have been few.

(A7)But for (D)ev'ry you could say (E7)moment that I've been (A)lucky,

there and I (F#m)guess you could say (B7)spent it's all because of (E7sus)you.

(E7)If (A)anyone should ever (A7)write my life (Dmaj7)story,

for (Bm7)whatever (E7)reason there might (Amaj7)be,

(A7)you'd be (Dmaj7)there between each (E7)line of pain and (Amaj7)glory,

(Dmaj7)'cause you're the (Bm7)best thing that ever (E7sus)happened to (Amaj7)me.

(Dmaj7)You're the (Bm7)best thing that ever (E7sus)happened to (A)me.

(Bm7)Lord, (E7)there (A)have been (Amaj7)times

when the (Bm)times were hard,

but (E7sus)always kind, (E7)somehow the I (Amaj7)made it (A7)through.

But for (D)ev'ry you could say (E7)moment that I've spent (A)hurting,

there was a (F#m)mo you could ment (B7)spent it's all be loving (E7sus)you.

(E7)If (A)anyone should ever (A7)write my life (Dmaj7)story,

for (Bm7)whatever (E7)reason there might (Amaj7)be,

(A7)you'd be (Dmaj7)there between each (E7)line of pain and (Amaj7)(Dmaj7)glory,

'cause you're the (Bm7)best thing that ever (E7sus)happened to (Amaj7)me.

(Dmaj7)You're the (Bm7)best thing that ever (E7sus)happened to (A)me.

(Bm7)Lord, (E7)there (Amaj7)me.
