As I Lay Me Down

It felt like springtime on this

February morning.

In a courtyard birds were (Fsus)singing your (Bb)praise.

(Eb)I'm still recalling things you (Gm)said to make me feel alright.

I carry them with me today,

now. (Bb)As I (F)lay me (Eb)down to (F)sleep,

this I (Bb)pray:

that (F)you will hold me dear

though I'm far away.

I'll whisper (Eb)your name (F)into the (Bb)sky,

and (F)I will wake up happy.

I wonder

(Eb)I feel so high, though I am not above the sorrow,

heavy hearted till you (Fsus)call ing my (Bb)name.

(Eb)And it like church or the tle (Gm)of a train a sum

evening. want to meet you bare barely breathing.

(Bb)As I (F)lay me (Eb)down to (F)sleep,

this I (Bb)pray:

that (F)you will hold me dear

though I'm far away.

I'll whisper (Eb)your name (F)into the (Bb)sky,

and (F)I will wake up happy.

I wonder Oh, darling,

(Bb)It's not too near for me.

Like the flower, I need the (Db)rain.

Though it's not clear to me,

ev'ry season has its change and I will see you when the sun comes out again.

(Bb)As I (F)lay me (Eb)down to (F)sleep,

this I (Bb)pray:

that (F)you will hold me dear

though I'm far away.

I'll whisper (Eb)your name (F)into the sky,

(Bb)and (F)I will wake up happy.

(Bb)As I (F)lay me (Eb)down to (F)sleep,

this I (Bb)pray:

that (F)you will hold me dear

though I'm far away.

I'll whisper (Eb)your name (F)into the sky,

(Bb)and (F)I will wake up happy.
